THE HEALING POWER OF LIGHT – 2

As we have examined in the previous post, God’s light shining in our hearts has powerful effects on our inner being. The light of His truth has rescued us from the effects of sin and transformed us into a new species, called “children of God”.

However, light also has the power to restore our bodies to efficient functionality. Let me explain.

Humans have known of the power of light for many centuries and used it according to their limited knowledge. Scientists know that light on earth gets its power from the sun in both the plant and the animal world.

For many years, medical science has attempted to harness the power of light to heal and regenerate the body through various methods of phototherapy. As a trained nurse and midwife, I myself have used light therapy to treat babies with neonatal jaundice.

However, as much as light has been used to treat various medical conditions for many years, only in the past 20 years has scientific research been learning to harness the human body’s ability to use its own light to heal itself.

Just as God’s light, His spiritual truth revealed in His Word, has entered our souls to restore the image of Jesus in us…

Romans 12:2 NLT
[2] “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

…so, through this technology, scientists have learned how to harness light emitted by our bodies to reverse the process of aging and restore the body’s cells to improved function again.

Through a thermal camera, we can see the light that comes from a warm-blooded creature’s body. Wild-life photographers use this way to photograph wild animals in the dark. For example, with the use of a thermal camera, the warmest areas of a wild animal show up in the dark as yellow, shading to green and blue where there is less light on the surface of the skin.

Every cell in the body uses light in the form of energy, to function efficiently. Light waves activate the appropriate elements to do their work. As the body ages, under the influence of internal and external factors that degrade its functions, the cells slowly lose their efficiency until the body’s cells eventually can no longer continue to sustain life.

Stem cells produced on the brain are the body’s repair kit. Stem cells are initially neutral, (like one-size-fits-all), but they become whatever and wherever new cells are needed to replace old. We age as our stem cells slowly lose their ability to do their work. I am told that, by the age of sixty, stem cells have lost 60% to 80% of their function.

This recently-discovered technology of which I have learned, has found a way to reflect the light emitted from the skin back into the body to, among other functions, reactivate the body’s own stem cells to repair the body’s wearing-out functions. Malfunctioning vital organs, such as heart, liver, kidneys, pancreas, etc., which result in degenerative conditions, begin to function normally again. Pain, cause by inflammation, is relieved. Normal brain function is restored… even hair loss and colour are affected by this therapy, without medication or invasive procedures.

This sounds like magic, or miraclulous, doesn’t it? Yet, many thousands of people who have put this treatment to the test, are finding it not only true but have begun to live healthier lives again. Through the application of this technology, degenerative conditions are being reversed and even brain malfunctions are being restored to normality.

Now let me explain further. A variety of tiny crystals applied to the skin by the use of patches, causes the skin to reflect specific wavelengths of light back into the body. These “lightwaves” stimulate circulating peptides, groups of amino acids in the blood, to attach to various minerals, (especially copper in the case of the “flagship” patch). These copper peptides, in turn, reactivate the body’s stem cells which have become dormant through aging.

For years, doctors have used stem cells harvested from donors to treat, for example, conditions like leukaemia. However, the treatment is expensive with no money-back guarantee of success. When the body can produce its own stem cells, healing happens… efficiently.

Since God is truth and all wisdom belongs to Him surely, then, this technology must have come from Him…

… so, God has revealed to scientists the way to apply the healing power of light in our bodies to heal our organs from the damaging effects of aging. Through this process, we can, in turn, live out our lifespan with a far better quality of life than most people who are dying from the decay of aging and disease.

The beauty of this technology is that it is relatively cheap, compared with traditional methods of stem cell transplants and other forms of phototherapy, and it is guaranteed to work with a money-back guarantee.

It is not my intent to advertise a product but rather to show you how wonderfully God has both saved our souls and is able to restore our bodies by His light. Although this technology, using light, can never help us cheat death, it can restore our bodies to a measure of healthy living that extends our lifespan and gives us a better quality of life until our bodies die.

The man who discovered this process is a confessing believer in Jesus. He has worked for 20+ years on discovering the code that unlocks the human body’s power to heal itself. He has tried and tested every step of this amazing discovery and has more than 70 US patents to authenticate his work. He has published the details of the process extensively and defended his work from the critics who try to discredit what he is doing. There are hundreds of testimonies from those who use the patches that they work!

After explaining the process of the healing these light crystals initiate, this scientist made this exciting statement, “This is only the beginning!” Imagine if his research would take him into the field of potentially fatal conditions like cancer and HIV-AIDS or brain malfunctions like Alzheimers, or Parkinsons disease! Already, autism, and other mental or emotional conditions, for example, is positively affected by the use of specific patches. Despite the skepticism of critics, the results speak for themselves.

Does this sounds too good to be true? A pipe dream? A fairy story? Without the testimony of many thousands who have used this technology with dramatic effects, it would be only a far-fetched dream but, to God’s glory, it is true!

THE POWER TO TRANSFORM

THE POWER TO TRANSFORM

“Here is a simple rule of thumb for behaviour: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you; then grab the initiative and do it for them! If you only love the lovable, do you expect a pat on the back? Run-of-the-mill sinners do that. If you only help those who help you, do you expect a medal? Garden-variety sinners do that. If you only give for what you hope to get out of it, do you think that’s charity? The stingiest of pawnbrokers does that.'” Luke 6:31-34 (The Message).

Jesus was brilliant!

What an amazingly simple, yet powerfully effective prescription for creating harmony in the world! But it takes far more than the disposition of ordinary humans to do that.

We humans have far more inclination to destroy that to build and to sustain. Watching television is enough to convince us of that. How many TV programmes and movies and books and news stories are about destruction? And we thrive on them all! Watching or reading about everyday stuff is tame and boring. We like murder and war and bloodshed.

Jesus challenged His hearers, and He challenges us today. Try living this way for a  month and see what it does to your depression; your stress; even your anxieties and fears. How many of the issues you have with others will melt away? How much suspicion, mistrust, dislike, offenses will dissipate? How much peace will you experience in the place of inner turmoil?

Just imagine how far the ripples will go out from the pebble you drop in the pond! You have issues with your husband? Try doing for him what you are always nagging him to do for you. Your wife refuses to be your servant? Try lovingly serving her without expecting any reward. The outcome beggars imagination. Homes would be transformed from war zones to havens.

Jesus put His finger on the nerve centre of our problems — selfishness! What if we dethroned ourselves, just for a month, put Him back on the throne of our lives where He belongs, let God be the centre of the universe, not us, and practised these simple ways to create harmony, not chaos, around us? Jesus said our behaviour would be as visible as a candle in a dark room.

None of these things are difficult to do, but we have strong resistance from inside because they are foreign to our natural disposition. That is the reason why we need a supernatural solution to our problem of selfishness. It may take sheer grit and will power to do what we are not disposed to doing, but it will not last. We will soon be back to our old ways because every kind thought or act would be cutting across our real selves.

What Jesus was describing is “kingdom” living and He said that it takes a “birth” from above to understand and live the way God does. This kind of “power” makes no sense to the person who is used to living by the sword. Is that why the disciples switched off when Jesus spoke about His death? It made no sense to them then that the way to overcome the world system of power through force was to absorb the evil without retaliation until that power could do no more to Him.

Nothing about God’s kingdom make sense to the person who is still dark inside. The disposition of darkness only understands the power that pushes others around. Jesus was advocating a new kind of power, the power to subdue one’s own heart to the advantage of others. The power of love. What the world calls “power”, He called weakness. What He called “power”, the world called weakness, foolishness, but it turned out to be the most powerful event in the history of the world — the cross!

The cross changes things for the better like nothing else can. Force can change the world — for the worse. But the cross changes lives.

Has it changed yours?

Only Two Models

ONLY TWO MODELS

“For, as I have often told you before, and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things.

“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.” Philippians 3:18-21.

Paul urged his beloved Philippian believers to follow his example because he modelled his life after the pattern and example of his rabbi, Jesus. If they, in turn, followed him, they would be safe from the ravages of the world’s example which was selfish, self-indulgent and destructive. He even called them “enemies of the cross of Christ”.

I wonder whether those who call themselves “Christian”, even those who no more than tip their hats to God on a Sunday or at Christmas and Easter but live like the world, realise that they are His enemies. Whenever we stray into the dominion of the flesh, which is not the way He calls us to live, we become His enemies because self, under our old master, rules the appetites of our old nature.

The other model we have to follow is that of our rabbi, Jesus. Paul assured his readers that they had dual citizenship. They had no option but to be citizens of this world because they lived in it and were obliged to obey the laws of their country as far as they were able.

But they were also citizens of the kingdom of heaven. They were already resident in the realm of God’s rule, body, soul and spirit if they willingly submitted to His Spirit in them. The unseen presence of God called them away from fleshly indulgence to a life of obedience to Him and unselfish service to one another.

Those who live in God’s kingdom have not yet seen their king, but they await His coming with eager anticipation, His return heralds their final liberation from the old nature and will fulfill their hope of a resurrection body perfected like His body, never to suffer pain or sickness, and never to die again.

His return promises, not only the final transformation of His own but also the restoration of all things – the universe and all nature corrupted by the fall. This is as much part of our hope as our own salvation completed and perfected on that day. If we allow our imagination to take us into the future, what will it be like? Although we have no experience of living in a perfect body in a perfect world, at least we can think about ourselves and the animal world living in harmony and the natural world without bugs and weeds!

Paul encourages us as he encouraged the Philippians two thousand years ago, to anticipate and live in that realm now. It’s worth the discipline and the wait. If we live in and for our selfish appetites and desires now, we disqualify ourselves from enjoying the eternal bliss of a life beyond our imagination. Is it worth it? We can’t have both.

Like Jesus, Paul viewed all the events of his life, good and bad, from God’s perspective and adjusted his thoughts, his attitude and his responses towards trust and obedience. Circumstances that seemed disastrous at the time turned out for the good when he trusted God instead of resisting and rebelling. Even his imprisonment, uncomfortable as it was, turned out for good, and he was able to rejoice, first in the outcome and then in anticipation of the outcome because Jesus was in the driving seat,

Paul experienced this so often that he could say with confidence that Jesus would put everything right when He returned and took up the reins of government here on earth. We can only be part of that righteous rule if we submit to Him now and live in this world as citizens of His kingdom. We have to make the choice now. Which model are we to follow? Following the world’s model takes no effort at all. Just keep going as we are. To follow Jesus means learning to say no to our selfish desires and yes to His Spirit in us.

We are free to choose our way in life but we are not free to choose the consequences. Follow Jesus and the outcome is eternal life. Follow the flesh and the result is unthinkable

Deceitful And Beyond Cure

DECEITFUL AND BEYOND CURE

“When her owners saw that their lucrative little business was suddenly bankrupt, they went after Paul and Silas, roughed them up and dragged them into the market square. Then the police arrested them and pulled them into a court with this accusation, ‘These men are disturbing the peace — dangerous Jewish agitators subverting our law and order.’ By this time the crowd had turned into a restless mob out for blood.

“The judges went along with the mob, had Paul and Silas’s clothes ripped off and ordered a public beating. After beating them black and blue, they threw them into jail, telling the jail-keeper to put them under heavy guard so there would be no chance of escape. He did just that — threw them into the maximum security cell in the jail and clamped leg irons on them.” Acts 16:19-24 (The Message).

Wow! All that just because Paul set a girl free! Talk about injustice! Who were the agitators and who were the ones subverting law and order? Certainly not Paul and Silas.

What lay at the bottom of this furore? Money! These slave-owners were mercilessly exploiting another human being for the sake of money. They were turning her spiritual torment into an income for themselves with no regard for her dignity or humanity. It’s no wonder that the Holy Spirit acted quickly to release her from demonic oppression when Paul intervened!

Her owners could not come out with the real reason for their protest. What would it look like for them if they dragged Paul and Silas into court shouting, ‘These men have just set this girl free from demons and now we can’t make money out of her any more’? What an exposure of their own wicked hearts, exploiting the plight of the girl and the gullibility of the public!

What did they say instead? “These men are Jews, and are throwing our city into an uproar by advocating customs unlawful for us Romans to practise.” Acts 16:21 (NIV). How true was that? Who was throwing the city into an uproar? They were. Where and to whom were Paul and Silas speaking? They were speaking to the women outside the city at the place of prayer near the river. So who was deceiving whom?

This is our story. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Jeremiah wrote this damning diagnosis of the condition of the human heart:

“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9 (NIV).

So intent are we on protecting our name, our image, and even our motives that we lie to ourselves and to the ones who are closest to us. The results are alienation and broken relationships, anger, bitterness and resentment because we are unwilling to take responsibility for what we do and say.

What would have happened had the slave-owners resolved to tell the truth? Would they have resorted to the action they took against Paul and Silas? If they were honest, might they not have admitted that their treatment of the girl was wrong and perhaps even set her free because they had been unfair to her?

The miracle of the gospel of Jesus is that it changes our hearts. It enables us to see things from another perspective; truth replaces deception and teaches us to be humble enough to be real with ourselves and others. Only God’s grace can set us free from our inborn lying natures and embrace who we really are — people created in the image of God who are being transformed from our old corrupt selves into the character of Jesus.
