Peace, perfect peace

We read in the scriptures when the angel announced the birth of Jesus in Luke 2:13,14 “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and goodwill toward all men on whom his favour rests.”

As we observe the situation throughout the world today, we cannot help coming to the conclusion that this is far from the truth. All around us we find people suffering from deep depression due to stress, and anxiety that very often leads to the brink of suicide. Psychiatrists through the use of various drugs try their utmost to combat this disease of the mind, and the search for peace continues. There is only one guarantee for peace, and that is through Jesus, who specializes in cases beyond our control.

John 14: 27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

When your boat on the sea of life is tempest tossed, when the angry waves of circumstances threaten to drive you into deep despair, when trials as large as mountains have exhausted your endurance, remember it is still Jesus who calms the storms of life.

When you build a relationship with Jesus, He enables you to become more than a conqueror and will never leave you nor forsake you. Re-member that circumstances never change Jesus, but Jesus changes circumstances.

Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”

“PEACE I LEAVE WITH YOU, MY PEACE I GIVE UNTO YOU.”

LIFE IN HIM

A few years ago, the commercial world, in the advertising of their particular prod-ucts, used the word “LIFE” Co-ca-Cola stated that “Coca-Cola adds life”. The other advertise-ment came from a motor com-pany and they used the phrase “Life’s is a journey enjoy the ride.” What is the true meaning of life? If one were able to do a survey on the subject of life, the outcome would express many different interpretations. How-ever for the unbeliever, it would be all about self. What I can get out of life and not what I am able to contribute to leave a leg-acy for the future generation. Praise God for the Christian there is a lot more meaning to life. When we accept the Lord Jesus into our lives as our per-sonal Saviour, many things begin to happen. For instance Acts 17 : 28 reminds that Jesus is the centre of our lives this “For in him we live and move and exist” Jesus is the very es-sence of our lives. Psalm 36 : 7 – 9 (7) “How excellent is your loving kindness O God! There-fore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of your wings. (8) They are abun-dantly satisfied with the fullness of your house, And you give them drink from the river of your pleasures. (9) For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.” In John 4 we read about a Samaritan woman coming to the well to draw water. Jesus “THE FOUN-TAIN OF LIFE” was seated at the well. A conversation began to develop between Jesus and the Samaritan woman over wa-ter. Jesus said to the woman, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again” “but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into ever-lasting life.” Reader, are you experiencing a spiritual drought in your life? Jesus THE FOUN-TAIN OF LIFE is the answer to your spiritual, physical and fi-nancial needs.

You are God’s temple and he is living in you. You must allow him to take possession of your whole being. Then you will get to know life in all its fullness.

DON’T TEAM UP WITH THOSE WHO ARE UNBELIEVERS

Currently we find ourselves living in a world gone mad. High on Satan’s agenda is gay marriages, and sad to say that many countries throughout the world have voted in favor of this including South Africa. What has God to say about this? High on God’s agenda, this is seen as an abomination. Who has given man the right to change God’s word to suit his depraved lusts?

I encourage the reader of this article to turn to Ro-mans 1:1–32 especially verses 26 & 27. Proverbs 16:17 has a good word of advice for Christians “THE PATH OF THE UPRIGHT LEADS AWAY FROM EVIL; WHOEVER FOLLOWS THAT PATH IS SAFE.”

Furthermore 2 Cor. 6:14 -18 warns the Christian of being mismatched with unbelievers. “DON’T TEAM UP WITH THOSE WHO ARE UNBELIEVERS. HOW CAN GOODNESS BE A PARTNER WITH WICKEDNESS? HOW CAN LIGHT LIVE WITH DARKNESS. WHAT HARMONY CAN THERE BE BETWEEN CHRIST AND THE DEVIL? HOW CAN A BELIEVER BE A PARTNER WITH AN UNBELIEVER? AND WHAT UNION CAN THERE BE BETWEEN GOD’S TEMPLE AND IDOLS? FOR WE ARE THE TEMPLE OF THE LIVING GOD. AS GOD SAID: I WILL LIVE IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM, I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY WILL BE MY PEOPLE. THEREFORE, COME OUT FROM THEM AND SEPARATE YOURSELVES FROM THEM, SAYS THE LORD. DON’T TOUCH THEIR FILTHY THINGS, AND I WILL WELCOME YOU. AND I WILL BE YOUR FATHER, AND YOU WILL BE MY SONS AND DAUGHTERS SAYS THE LORD ALMIGHTY.”

Church, no matter what Satan tries to dangle before your eyes remember the choice is yours, whether to accept or reject it, the onus is on you.

 

The Glory of God

As we peruse the Word of God, we see that time and again, God’s glory is revealed to mankind through His wonder working power. The children were enslaved by the Egyptians, and they began crying out to God for deliverance. God raised up a man called Moses to be instrumental to liberate the children of Israel from slavery. To be able to seek God’s guidance Moses was in continual communion with Him. This led him to be bold enough to say to God “PLEASE SHOW ME YOUR GLORY”. God during His dialogue with Moses says to him, “YOU CAN-NOT SEE MY FACE”. However, God placed Moses in a cleft of a rock and covered Moses with His hand while His Glory passed by.

As we sum up the situation throughout the world, and especially in our own country at this point of time, we see that the only solution for this country is for the people of this nation to turn back to God.

We need to pray that God will raise up Godly leaders who, through the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit, will be instrumental in a “HOLY GHOST REVIVAL” in this rainbow nation. 2 Chronicles 7:14 is the cure for our nation, “IF MY PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME WILL HUMBLE THEM-SELVES, AND PRAY AND SEEK MY FACE, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN I WILL HEAR FROM HEAVEN, AND WILL FOR-GIVE THEIR SIN AND HEAL THEIR LAND.”

When a nation seeks God’s face and obeys His word, we will see the Glory of God being manifested in and through its people. Homes will become a place where God is revered, Churches will be filled with people glorifying God, jails will be unoccupied by criminals, true justice will be the order of the day, and God will prosper our land so much so that we will have an influx of all those people who immigrated to other countries, wanting to be part of the movement of God. Cause us, Lord, to seek your face.

Restoring the fallen house of David

In that day I will restore the fallen house of David. I will repair its damaged walls. From the ruins I will rebuild it and restore its for-mer glory.” Amos 9:11.

As we focus on the above scripture, we are informed by the Prophet Amos that, whilst King David ruled his kingdom, God gave to him everything that was according to God’s purposes and plans. When King David died, his son Solo-mon reigned and ruled in his place. In the beginning of his reign everything went well. He was responsible for building the temple. With the passing of time, King Solomon began to drift away from God. He began worshiping foreign gods. “AND SOLOMON DID EVIL IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD, AND WENT NOT FULLY AFTER THE LORD, AS DID DAVID HIS FATHER.” 1 Kings 11:6. Currently as we sum up the state of affairs world-wide, it’s not difficult to see that there has been a drastic decline in the stand-ard of living. What once was sacred to our society, and where Godly princi-ples were a way of life and practised by families, has become estranged. Every now and then we are confronted with news of a family being disrupted through divorce. Every now and then we are informed of children being mo-lested by relatives, and so we could go on exposing the works of the devil. As Christians we are warned in Romans 12: 2, “NOT TO BE CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD BUT BE TRANS-FORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, THAT YOU MAY PROVE WHAT IS THAT THE GOOD AND ACCEPTABLE AND PERFECT WILL OF GOD.” Our minds can often be the area where the devil places un-godly thoughts that cause us to sin. However, when we focus on Jesus, we overcome the temptation that is put before us. Praise God there is a new day dawning when Jesus the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is coming back to renew and restore everything the devil has destroyed. I end with these words taken from Revelation 21:3, “AND I HEARD A LOUD VOICE FROM HEAVEN SAYING, BEHOLD THE TABERNACLE OF GOD IS WITH MEN AND HE WILL DWELL WITH THEM, AND THEY SHALL BE HIS PEOPLE AND GOD HIMSELF WILL BE WITH THEM AND BE THEIR GOD.”
